Today we greet the
Start of Summer—the first solar term of summer, a time when all living things enter a season of vigorous growth.
Ancient Chinese wisdom says: “When the Big Dipper points southeast, it is the Start of Summer; all things grow greatly from this point, hence the name.” After spring’s nurturing, nature flourishes: crops stand tall, fruits and vines spread, wheat fills with grain. The three phenological signs appear: crickets chirp, earthworms emerge, and melon vines grow—nature cycles in harmony.
The Start of Summer is a season of rituals. In ancient times, ceremonies welcomed summer and prayed for good harvests. Folk traditions include egg fights, weight measuring, and tasting seasonal foods, wishing for health and peace through the hot months. A bowl of Lixia rice and a Lixia egg carry people’s sincere wishes for a good life.
Seasons change, but life always grows toward the sun. The Start of Summer symbolizes growth, progress, and hope. Just as nature thrives in summer, we aim to move forward with passion and determination, working hand in hand with all partners to create prosperity and success.

立夏—— 夏季的第一个节气，标志着万物进入茁壮生长的黄金时节。
古人云：“斗指东南，维为立夏，万物至此皆长大，故名立夏也。”历经春日的孕育与积蓄，天地间阳气升腾，草木拔节、瓜果攀藤、麦浪灌浆，一切都在向着热烈与成熟奔赴。蝼蝈鸣、蚯蚓出、王瓜生，三候有序，自然在时光里轮回生长。
立夏，也是一个充满仪式感的节气。古有迎夏之礼，祈愿丰收与安康；民间有斗蛋、称人、尝新的习俗，寓意平安度夏、健康顺遂。一碗立夏饭、一枚立夏蛋，藏着人们对生活朴素而真挚的热爱。
